Medical Doctor and Gynecologist from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá. He received formal postgraduate training (residency) in Gynecology and Obstetrics at McGill University Health Center in Montreal, Canada. He is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Medical Council of Canada. He completed a fellowship in Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA. During his training at these institutions, he received the Wyeth Award for Excellence in Reproductive Endocrinology and the Brian Newton Memorial Award. In 2002, during a sabbatical year in France, he received additional training in Gynecological Endoscopic Surgery at Clinique Baudelocque, Cochin Hospital, in Paris with Professor Jean Bernard Dubuisson, as well as in Assisted Reproduction at the fertility center of Hospital Atoine Béclere in Clamart with Professors René Frydman, Francois Olivennes, and Renato Fanchin. He has been a member of the American Fertility Society – American Society for Reproductive Medicine since 1983. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG); and a member of the National Academy of Medicine of Colombia, the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons. As a Johns Hopkins alumnus, he is a member of the Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Association. He is currently eligible for American Board certification in his specialty in the United States. He was Head of the Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine Section at the Santa Fe University Hospital in Bogotá for 20 years, and is a professor of the specialty at the universities of Los Andes, Caldas, El Bosque, and Nueva Granada Military University in Colombia. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oriéntame Foundation in Bogotá and a member of the Kellogg Innovation Network at the Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University in Chicago, USA. He is a founding partner of REPROTEC and currently directs the Fertility Preservation program.

Embryologist certified by the American Association for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). Knowledgeable in molecular genetics laboratory testing and reproductive genetics laboratory testing. I began my training as an embryologist in 2014. I have been part of the Reprotec team since 2020. Coordinator of the in vitro laboratory at Reprotec Cali since 2024. Being an embryologist is a task full of challenges, responsibility, and many joys. I greatly appreciate and value contributing to the miracle of life from the laboratory.

Roberto Olivares

A biologist from the University of Los Andes with postgraduate studies in Human Genetics from the same university. Certified as a Technical Supervisor (TS) by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). He worked as a Senior Embryologist in the United States from 2000. He was part of the team of embryologists who developed a new preimplantation genetic diagnosis technique for human embryos at the Reproductive Medical Associates of New Jersey (RMA Of NJ) fertility center, using microarray (fingerprinting) techniques that allowed for the diagnosis of the presence of all 23 pairs of human chromosomes. Subsequently, he continued his professional career at the New York University Fertility Center. Since January 2023, he has led the embryology laboratory at Reprotec Cartagena.
